Relationship Advice

While the terms, "target demographic, elevator speech, level-setting" are common in the business world, they're also applicable to dating and relationships (i.e. what type of partner are you looking for, how do you present yourself and what type of relationship are you looking for?). With that perspective, Neil offers unique relationship advice with a business and marketing twist to help you stand out in the crowd.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I'm single and having trouble meeting someone I'm compatible with. What do I do?
A: Sometimes it's hard to sell a product without marketing it, especially to the target demographic. Volunteering and organized events (i.e. MeetUp, Sierra Club, etc.) are great opportunities to showcase your passion for that activity and meet people with similar interests at the same time. Also, networking is a great way to meet others. So hosting dinner/potluck parties, nights out at your favorite spot or some type of recreation and calling a few friends (and having them bring their friends) is another nice way to meet quality people.

Q: I just met someone I'm interested in. What do you recommend for a first date?
A: In the early stages of building a new business relationship, it's important to learn as much as possible about each other's interests. Food and some type of activity, such as a day at the beach, a baseball game or even a lounge that has some nice background music are always a nice way to share some good conversation.
